Jibhi and Shoja- Gems of Tirthan Valley
Jibhi and Shoja are such places which are not much commercialized and is perfect for peaceful and chilling (quite literally if you are vising in Jan-Feb) getaway!!
I travelled to these two places with two of my friends in the month of February (end of the month) and it was very cold so its recommended that you definitely carry good pair of warm clothes.
HOW TO REACH JIBHI FROM DELHI?
So the first and foremost question that arises in mind is how to reach Jibhi as there is no direct bus from Delhi to Jibhi (if you are travelling through bus).
THROUGH BUS - Board a bus from Majnu ka Tila in Delhi for Manali and get down on Aut (it is an overnight journey), from Aut where the bus will drop you, you will find some taxi service and take a taxi till Jibhi which will cost you around 1k ( for entire taxi).
TIP : Do bargain if the taxi driver charge you more than rs.1000 ( we did that too)
THROUGH CAR- If you are going via car then you will have to take a turn from Aut and driving for few kilometers above, you will reach Jibhi
After this I and my friends went to eat breakfast and moved in search of a decent homestay!
Jibhi is the place where you will get decent amount of options for stay, just choose what ever suits you the best.
The one which we decided to stay costed us Rs.1200 per day for one room.
Please do not expect too much luxury but you will get everything that you will need.

THINGS TO DO IN JIBHI
Jibhi is a small town and just full of beauty all around, you can just wander around find new trail and enjoy the beauty of nature at it's best!
But there is one place that is a must visit and that is :
JIBHI WATERFALL - The waterfall at Jibhi is a must visit, in my opinion the best part of the waterfall was not the waterfall but the path that lead us to the it. There are small man made bridges which you have to cross to reach the waterfall.

Way to the waterfall (the man made bridge) There are not much cafes in Jibhi, you will find only 2-3 cafes. On our last night we went to one of the cafes and spent a beautiful evening there, well it was Shivratri that day so we got a little "prasad" from the owner of the cafe!! After spending two good days in Jibhi it was time to leave for Shoja, which is little above from Jibhi! FROM JIBHI TO SHOJA Easiest way if to reach Shoja from Jibhi, if you do not have your own vehicle, is through the local bus, #TravelLikeALocal You can get the local bus in every 15 mins which will take around 40 mins to reach Shoja. The view will be amazing so make sure you take the window seat !! Shoja in February end was pretty much snowy, and it was much much colder than Jibhi. People usually wonder and ask if they should visit Jibhi or Shoja, what I will recommend is visit both the places, and you should definitely visit both the places, they are not far from each other. STAY IN SHOJA
There are fair amount of homestay and resorts in Shoja, and you can find places depending on your budget. I would personally recommend to live at Firgun (cafe and homesaty). I was there for 3 days (IT WAS POCKET FRIENDLY) and everything about this place is simply amazing. The owner of the place is very welcoming and it is the only legit cafe in Shoja (and what a cafe 😍). |
Firgun made my trip even more memorable (above picture is taken from firgun's instagram page as my photos could not do justice to the place).
PLACES TO VISIT IN SHOJA
There are some of most amazing places near Shoja where you can go, I could not go because the path got blocked because of snowfall.
Some of the places that you should definitely visit are:
1) JALORI PASS - People go on a trek to Jalori pass, its an easy level trek and highly recommended. Don't forget to wear proper shoes and be ready to make some everlasting memory here.
2) SEROLSAR LAKE- Serolsar lake is 5kms away from Jalori Pass and is a beautiful and famous location where people usually go on a trek, you should definitely cover this and you will be filled with awe after witnessing the beauty of this place.
Although Jibhi and Shoja are the places which remain peaceful and quite throughout the year but best time to visit would be from March to May, when it is just perfect sunny and every path is clear.
