Postcards from Gokarna, Karnataka
Gokarna is a place in the Indian state of Karnataka, it is a town on Arabian Sea. This town is not only famous for clean and peaceful beaches but also is a famous pilgrimage place for Hindus, mainly because of the Mahabaleshwar Temple, which has a shrine dedicated to the deity Shiva.
Village near Gokarna Bus Stop |
I visited Gokarna in February, 2019 and at that time of the month it was very pleasant. This was my first picture I took in Gokarna, clicked on the very first day, I decided to just take a walk aimlessly inside the village and I saw this colorful beautiful home!
I feel just walking alone sometimes feels so liberating, you look at things with different perspective and sometimes it does help in some introspection too!
Kudle Beach |
This picture is from Kudle Beach, it was our second day in Gokarna and we decided to spent the evening at the Kudle Beach, this is from one of the shacks on the beach.
It feels refreshing to just sit and do nothing but watching sunset on a beach, the view is always breath-taking, no matter how many times you see the sunset it's beautiful every single time.
This is not a regular beach picture, this is the view when you trek towards Half Moon beach and Paradise beach from Om beach.
It's a beautiful trek through woods with the view of the sea on one side. It was altogether a different trek experience for me, I would totally recommend to ditch the boat ride to these beaches and instead opt for this trail.
Om Beach |
This another picture is a view of Om Beach from a little height. This beach got its name "om" because if you look closely the shape of the beach makes "ॐ".
After a long walk it feels pretty great to witness such amazing view and that satisfaction of reaching your end goal, be it in life or in travel, it's really fulfilling.
Kudle Beach |
It is one of my most favorite clicks from this trip, its actually the memory with the person who clicked it which makes it so special, and also how much I love this combination of beer with masala papad 😍.
I really feel it'll always be the people who will make your trip even more memorable and worth cherishing always. Even if you choose to travel solo, it will surely be the people whom you will meet in your journey which will make all the difference.
Ps: Soon I will be coming up with a article on "Things to do in Gokarna". Until then enjoy these postcards pictures from this breathtaking place.
I really want to visit Gokarna someday.
